Daddy and Tyce on the Lake

It has been far to long since our last post, we will definitely stay more on top of our updates for you.

A couple weeks ago, Daddy and Tyce and a couple of friends hit the lake for some fun. Daddy likes wake boarding and tubing, while Tyce prefers to just splash around in the lake. These humid hot summer days make boating so fun, and we are grateful that we have opportunities to do this. Hopefully mommy will come next time, although we might have to fight tooth and nail to get her into the water (for some crazy reason she has a fear of gators :)

Typhoon Lagoon

Tyce and DaddySo last week we went out to Disney’s Blizzard Beach so yesterday we visited Disney’s other water park Typhoon Lagoon.  We went with our very good friends, Jon, Ashley, and their boy Gaven.  Tyce and Gaven are good friends and liked to play in the water together.  They especially love relaxing in the lazy river and soaking up the sun.

Jon and myself had a blast in the gigantic wave pool that dumps 6 foot waves on your head as you will see in the video and photos below.

Tyce’s First Visit To Blizzard Beach

Tyce In Lazy River

Tyce In Lazy River

On Saturday we thought it would be fun to go back and play at one of our favorite spots in Orlando, so we took our 15 minute ride down to the Disney World and went to Disney’s Blizzard Beach.

It was Tyce’s first time to visit Blizzard Beach, well any water park really.  He had never really been in a “body” of water, as he usually just takes showers with Daddy and that has been about the extent of his water contact.

Well, we got to Blizzard Beach, put our valuables in a locker and headed for the lazy river that encircles the entire park.  We were smart enough to stop by Target on the way and purchase a “Baby Boat” as you can see in the photo shaped like a turtle.  So we entered the water, and although its a nice 83 degrees outside, the water felt like we were still back in Utah.  Let’s just say it was pretty chilly, but was very nice once you got used to it.  Well, Tyce has never really been in contact with cold water.  But we sat him down in his turtle with his feet dangling through the two appropriate holes provided for a baby then a nice current hit us and we were on our way.

tycelazyriver01Tyce was a real tropper through the entire ride.  He showed us a little discomfort after initially entering the cold water but shortly after he was enjoying it very much.  He would try to splash the water and eat his tube.  Good thing he doesn’t have any teeth yet!  He even had to go through a gushing waterfall (which we forgot would be in our path) but he did just fine.  It was so fun seeing Tyce enjoy himself so.  Our little guy is getting so big!

tylersummitplummit01 I (Tyler) then went and ran over to do what is one of my favorite favorite rides anywhere.  The “Summit Plummit”.  A 12 story 90 degree waterslide free fall.  Oh man what a rush!  I love that ride so much!

Shuttle Launch 2009

Shuttle

We were honored on Sunday to be part of the very last night shuttle launch ever.  Although the shuttle launch was not until 7:30 we headed up close to Cape Canaveral early afternoon in hopes to find a place that would provide a great view of the launch.  Our good friends Jon and Ashley were able to bring an RV which provided a great solution for us to wait for the countdown.

When it was finally time to launch it was absolutely beautiful.  Colors of orange, red, blue, and white colored the air.  Make sure to check out our video and pictures below of this awesome event!

Warbird Airshow 2009

warbird-airshow-2009-028Over the weekend we went an hour and a half north to the Titusville airforce base to see a great spectacle on the ground and in the air.  We got up close to about every type of aircraft from every time period you can think of.  After a couple hours of mingling with the airplanes, we all gathered near the runway were we then got to see them take off and preform maneuvers in the air.  Be sure to check out the video below and the photos as well.

DeLange Family Comes To Visit

family-visit-2009-day-1-seaworld-034Over the last week we had the great opportunity of having my (Tyler) family come out to spend some time with us and see our new home. We know they mostly came just to see Tyce, but still we had a blast!

It was a very full week. During the little time they were here we hit up Seaworld, Busch Gardens, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Universal Studios, and of course some beach time at Cocoa Beach.

The funnest part of all the parks was to watch Tyce. He is so cute! Make sure you check out the pictures and video of their trip, because Tyce is a major part of the footage. The weather was perfect for their stay, hanging around the high 70’s and low 80’s. You couldn’t ask for more, especially while it was snowing at the same time in Salt Lake City.

We are so glad that we got to spend the time with them and we hope that they can come visit us again soon!

See the video of their stay!

Zions National Park

zions-2008-79For those who might not know, we officially move to St. George about a week and a half ago.  We like it down here.  Beautiful red rock, nice weather, and great views.

This weekend our close friends, Jason and Aimee McDaniel, came and visited us.  They are great friends and we respect them so much.  We all thought it would be fun to go and spend a few hours over in Zions National Park since it was so close to us.

This was the first time that we have really had a chance to do just about anything since our little Tyce was born.  It was really fun to finally get out and do something with him.

We had a really fun time, we didn’t get to stay for very long, but plan on possibly going back next month to get even more pictures of the amazing sites.

Check out all the pictures!

Paintball Anyone?

paintballing-01Over the weekend we went up to some friends property (Richard and Judy  Bell) up in the Uintahs and had an all out paintball war. We had a ton of fun.

Lake Powell 2008

sany0020We went to Lake Powell last weekend and it was an absolute blast.  Destiny and Tyler played a little to much the first day which left us pretty tired and exhausted the rest of the trip, but we still had plenty of fun.

This was also the first time that Jade has gotten into a real body of water and it was funny to watch how she would prance around in the water.  We found out that she really can’t swim and doesn’t want to go out any further then were she can touch.

Camping under power lines

camping-07-july-04So… it’s date night and me and Ty want to get out of the routine dinner and a movie scene- so we went camping!  Yay!  Ty found a great spot online- a national park that was 15 min from where we live.  So, we take the next few hours getting our stuff together- went shopping for what we were missing etc… Finally we were on our way- and we found the park- only to realize that we had passed anywhere that we could get some food- so we backtrack a few miles, and get our Arby’s (fires aren’t allowed here- so we couldn’t do hot dogs and smores) Anyways- we eventually reach the park (again) and we drive in all pumped b/c the place looks great- and-  duh duh duh- they were full. Hmmm…. so we weren’t about to give up after all that.  The park gave us a list of 4 other campsites close by.  Only one had any room left- so that made it an easy choice.  When we got there however, we figured out why they had room.

The area wasn’t only a campsite- it was also there for RVs- which is fine too- but it was also for condo’s- k that’s a little strange to camp outside a condo- but luckily our campsite wasn’t across from the RVs or Condo’s it was across from the lovely trailer homes.  Our tent was directly underneath a power line that we could have heard all night- if our neighbors (who I think where permanent residents) didn’t have their TV on in their tent all night, and the freeway (about 500 ft away) was a little busy during the night as well. But… it was an adventure- and it was fun!  We decided that Jade is not much of a camper- she doesn’t like it when its so hot, and I think she has issues sleeping on the ground.

Next time we go camping- hopefully it can be the real hard core stuff like in UT- as long as there are flush-able toilets and showers ;) .
