It’s A Boy!

d_4So- Tyler and I are pregnant! Yay! Finally! And ITS A BOY! We were able to have an ultrasound done at 8 weeks because they considered me high risk because of my history, and my families history.  The first ultrasound was a lot of fun, we were able to see our little baby, and He wasn’t moving around much at that point, but it made it seem that much more real (at least to Ty- the constant nausea makes it real for me).

When we went in for our first appointment with my doctor when I was 12 weeks, and they gave us a bag full of goodies- and I was looking through them, and I pulled out this one thing in the bag, it was made of plastic- but it was soft on the inside. So- I was looking at it, trying to figure out what it was- and there was a little card in a clear plastic pocket- so I was like  – “How weird they made this thing just to put their card in it?”- this item was probably about 2ft long,  and 1.5 ft wide. And I thought it was the weirdest thing- then Jenna turns to me and takes a look at it and says “That’s a changing mat.” LOL- ok I felt like a dork. We also got to have an ultrasound at this appointment, just for fun. And it was so much fun because our little one was moving and doing summersaults and just couldn’t hold still. I didn’t know they could move that early- so that was a lot of fun for us!

We saw our doctor for the third time just last week. The doctor came in and asked me how I was feeling. I said “sick and chubby!”- and he started laughing and said “You’re not chubby, I saw chubby today! Chubby left at 11:00!” lol- it made me feel better, but sad for Chubby! We were able to listen to the heartbeat, and it was incredible. You could here our baby’s heart beating rapidly, and mine was a slower beat in the background. The doctor was really impressed with the strength of the heartbeat, and it was just awesome to listen to it.  We also set up an appointment for the “big” ultrasound day where they tell you what you are having, and they do a bunch of tests to make sure the baby is developing ok. We had set the appointment 5 weeks from the day we where in there- and- well- I couldn’t wait. So…

We went to Fetal Studio that Saturday to find out what we were having. And… It’s a boy!  The ultrasound that doctor did was really cool too, it wasn’t in 3D or anything, but we were able to see a lot. One image that just sticks with me was when we could see his mouth and we could see him breathing- it was amazing.  There was another image that was so cute, he was sleeping through the whole thing so he didn’t move around much, but we could see that he was sucking on his fingers. I just thought that was so precious.

Anyways- so that is where we are. We are going to have a baby boy, and we couldn’t be happier.
